Synopsis

Park Shi On suffers from a condition called ‘savant syndrome’ which makes him autistic but at the same time gives him exceptional abilities. He has photographic memory which means he memorises everything he reads after reading it only once, he’s extremely good at numbers and calculations and lastly, he’s gifted with the spatial visualization ability.

Having been tutored under Director Choi who is a pediatric surgeon from a young age, Shi On is eventually allowed to work as a pediatric surgeon on a trial basis at Sung Won Hospital after Director Choi puts his job on the line to secure Shi On’s place.

Initially, Shi On faces many challenges because he is autistic. His colleagues give him a hard time and ridicule him for becoming a doctor when his mental age is that of a school kid. His patients also distrust him with their children and Shi On finds himself being unwanted and constantly scolded. Even the caring but strict Associate Professor Kim Do Han whose intelligence is acknowledged by all the hospital staff and patients tries to tell Shi On that being a doctor does not suit him, believing it is for everyone’s own good.

Strong-headed, determined and morally-upright Doctor Cha Yoon Seo and Doctor Han Jin Wook are the only seniors in the pediatric department that treat Shi On decently. Yoon Seo looks after Shi On and treats him like a younger brother but ever so slowly, Shi On starts to develop feelings for the pretty and warm doctor who is always there for him and continuously encourages him.

As time goes by, Shi On melts the hearts of everyone around him with his sincerity and child-like innocence, showing them his determination to become a full-fledged paediatric doctor by overcoming his disabilities and growing up at the same time.
